It seems only appropriate that LeafFilter North, the No. 3 Specialty Remodeler, sponsors a NASCAR team. Just like the crews in the pits, LeafFilter is all about being a well-oiled machine. “If a NASCAR team can’t work together then the car doesn’t go fast,” says Matt Kaulig, company owner and president. “It’s the same thing here.” Just how fast does the LeafFilter team go? It racked up more than 30,000 jobs in 2015 across its 30 offices.
Given the company’s sterling reputation, it’s easy to see why customers flock to LeafFilter. It’s been on Inc.’s 5000 Fastest Growing Companies for the last four years. It’s top-rated on HomeAdvisor and it’s a Plain Dealer Top Workplace at its headquarters in Hudson, Ohio. Several years ago, Kaulig says, LeafFilter made a change that’s led to these accolades. Rather than distribute its product to franchises, LeafFilter became 100% factory direct for the ultimate in customer service. “We wanted control over the final product,” he says.
But Kaulig says the real reason for the company’s success is the caliber of people he hires— people who are attracted by LeafFilter’s reputation. “We have people that believe in the company and the product and want to grow with us,” he says. “When your team members have that passion, it transfers to the customer.”
